ABOUT

Over 120,000 Louisville and Southern Indiana residents do not have reliable access to fresh, affordable food. We at The Food Equality Project are working to provide our most vulnerable communities with home-grown fruits and vegetables.

Each week we will deliver seasonal, organic* produce directly to their doors - all year long. Additionally, in April, November, and December, each family will receive a holiday-themed meal box.

This year we hope to raise $45,000 to cover the cost of feeding 35 families all year long. We are so excited about this project, but we will not be able to achieve these goals without the help of the community. If you wish to donate, follow the link at the bottom of the page!

*Our produce will be grown using organic practices, but it cannot be certified organic until 2025.

PROJECTS

The Food Equality Project has a couple of larger projects we are saving up for.

The first project is a delivery van to allow us to make our weekly deliveries come May!

We currently operate off of one eighth of an acre. While this eighth of an acre is small and mighty, it does limit how many people we are able to feed annually. By 2023 we hope to move to a larger location where we can establish an orchard, berry fields, beehives, and pasture for poultry. It's a big goal, but it will allow us to feed significantly more people who need it!
